Biography

Mr. Aaron Lum is Director of Smart Manufacturing & Artificial Intelligence at Micron Technology. Building on a decade of leadership in AI development for semiconductor manufacturing, he has recently shifted his focus to Physical AI—implementing AI solutions that interact with and act upon the physical manufacturing environment. His work brings together robotics, intelligent automation and machine vision to translate AI capabilities into practical applications that enhance manufacturing operations. Over the past decade, Aaron has led Micron’s data science organisation, driving the development of analytical solutions that utilise advanced modelling, machine learning and predictive analytics to address complex challenges in high-volume semiconductor production. He has provided strategic and technical direction to manufacturing sites worldwide, translating analytical innovation into production-ready solutions that improve productivity, quality, cost efficiency and operational decision-making. Since joining Micron in 2013, Aaron has held manufacturing and technology leadership roles of increasing responsibility. His expertise spans advanced process control and digital transformation, combining technical leadership with the organisational capabilities needed to translate innovation into sustained operational improvements. Aaron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, both from the National University of Singapore.
