Achieving the right balance of eco-efficiency by yielding sustainability benefits while achieving business goals.

Global manufacturing organizations are now called on to combine manufacturing efficiency and environmental sustainability by shaping a responsible future of manufacturing that works for people, society, and the environment. As we are all aware, this will require a fundamental change in our approach. This session will address how leaders and their organizations use advanced technologies to power growth across multiple dimensions, including productivity and environmental sustainability, while keeping people at the center of their digital transformation.

  • Is sustainability essential for companies to stay in business?
  • What are the new ways to reuse, recycle, and re-manufacture?
  • How can C-level management and corporate boards make digital transformation a significant priority?
  • How can they invest in technology and the workforce accordingly?
  • What are the critical challenges to address in the implementation stages?
  • Is the right technology alone enough to drive efficiency without culture and talent in place?
  • Can it be done alone, and how can partnerships add value?
  • How do you assess and ensure the right partnership?

Panel Discussion

Driving meaningful change: Manufacturing trends that will shape the factory of the future

Manufacturers have been evolving and adapting in response to new technological innovations and changing market demands. Today, the industry is moving through another evolution, one that does not only aim to drive productivity but also achieve sustainable practices that can drive measurable improvements across the manufacturing value chain. This session will discuss how innovative manufacturing companies are investing in sustainable technologies to drive cost savings and advance their future-facing goals such as net-zero emissions. What are the sustainable practices and strategies organisations can adopt to get started on this journey to create the factory of the future?

Discussion points:

What are the trending technologies leading the shift towards sustainable practices?

  • Manufacturing efficiency
    • How to drive operational excellence by optimizing processes?
    • How to utilise the power of new-age intelligent and connected technologies to reduce complexity and increase efficiency?
    • Can we do it alone, or do we need partners? How do you assess and ensure the right partnership?

  • Alternative energy solutions
    • Manufacturing facilities are one of the largest energy consumers and are associated with significant direct and indirect CO2 emissions - how are organisations managing the reduction of their carbon footprint?
    • What are the trends in implementing alternative power generation methods from energy sources?
    • Open to new business opportunities such as the conversion of CO2 into valuable products?

  • Closing the loop with circularity
    • What is the role of design in circular economy solutions for critical materials?
    • Discussing examples in practice - sharing by companies that have adopted aspects of circular economy thinking, along with explanations of what they are doing now and how they are doing it.
    • How to collaborate to co-develop and drive manufacturing processes to be more sustainable and circular?
